Within the frame of the “Global Management and Leadership” module, Business Management doctoral students are cooperating with other UL FEM study programmes and sharing their knowledge and experience regarding a variety of topics involving business and economics.

Since the creation of a separate module „Global Management and Leadership”  for foreigners in the frame of doctoral studies program in Management in 2010, the possibilities of cooperation between different study programs at the faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Latvia have broadened substantially.  Doctoral students being professionals in the field of international business, representing different companies with differing recognisability, ranging from family businesses to huge corporations, are gladly sharing their experience. The strongest cooperation has been formed with the professional master‘s study program International Business and bachelor‘s study program International Economy and Commercial Diplomacy. In the frame of master studies, the doctoral students are conducting lectures about a variety of subjects ensuring a diversity of opinions and, most importantly, linking theoretical knowledge with praxis. Different sectors of business activities are represented – manufacturing, services and airlines industry are only a few. In the frame of bachelor studies, the students learn about specific economics and management questions executing their implementation in the real business environment. We need to outline the contribution the doctoral students have made during educational trips to Germany and Austria where the UL students are listening to specifically prepared lectures or where they are participating in courses together with the local students.  This year the doctoral students are also organizing visits to their companies.
