The first international scientific conference „The development of the Project management sector – practice and perspectives” on the current issues and events of the project management in the Baltic countries is going to take place from the 8th till the 9th of February in the Great Hall of UL, 19 Raina boulevard, where referents and experts from Spain, Germany, Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are going to speak on these issues. The programme of the conference consists of opening plenary session, five parallel sessions and closing plenary session.

The aim of the scientific conference „The development of the Project management sector – practice and perspectives” is to present and discuss the various problems of project management in the context and perspective of scientific research, create new contacts and cooperation network among professionals of the field, as well as give the opportunity to the project managers to improve their knowledge and practical skills. Conference is organised by the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Latvia in co-operation with Professional Association of Project Managers and its main supporters are Baltic – Germany University Liaison Office, Latvijas Mobilais Telefons” Ltd., “Aldaris” Ltd. The ideological founder of the conference Dr.oec. Žaneta Ilmete says: “By organising this conference we are presenting the results of the latest scientific research in the field of project management to a wider audience and showing the advantages of using methods of project management in areas of entrepreneurship and public management”. The plenary session of the conference will be held in the Great Hall of UL on the 9th of February from 10.00 – 12.00 and it will be opened by keynote speakers: Aleksandrs Antonovs (Deputy State Secretary for the EU Funds at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia), Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Peter J. A. Reusch, Muhammad Khushnood (Dortmund University of Applied Science and Arts, Germany) and Prof. Dr. José Ramon Otegi Olaso (University of the Basque Country in Bilbao, Spain).   The work of the conference will be organised in the parallel sessions from14.00 to 18.00: 1.
